The champion vs. champion match between Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair kicked off this year’s Survivor Series pay-per-view. Apparently, this was a late change because this was originally supposed to end the show.
They were clearly working together but everything they did was stiff and snug. A few minutes into the match, Flair went for the moonsault off the top but was shoved to the floor by Lynch. Flair came back and picked up and dropped Lynch on the barricade.
Late in the match, Lynch missed a leg drop but she hit the Manhandle slam. Flair got her foot on the rope to avoid the pinfall. Lynch locked in a modified heel hook but Flair reversed it and Lynch had to break the hold by getting to the bottom rope.
Flair hit the moonsault off the top and onto Lynch on the floor and then followed up with a pin attempt and the Disarmher on Lynch. Flair followed up with hard chops in the corner and a roll up but the ref saw Flair holding the ropes. Lynch pinned Flair with Lynch holding the ropes but the ref didn’t see it.
