Kickoff Show

Jerry Lawler, JBL, Booker T and Peter Rosenberg joined Charly Caruso on the Kickoff Show panel.

There was a backstage interview with Paul Heyman. Just like he did on Talking Smack, he called Drew McIntyre a placeholder and a “babysitter for a belt” while Reigns will leave a legacy that no other man can catch.

Bianca Belair was interviewed to talk about the women’s Survivor Series match taking place later tonight. Natalya joined her and they argued about who is the captain of their team.

Jey Uso was shown warming up backstage with his father Rikishi looking on. Sami Zayn walked up to the panel area to talk about the lack of respect he is being shown ahead of his match with Bobby Lashley.

24/7 Champion R-Truth joined the panel and he showed a video “tribute” to The Phenom. It was actually a video of The Gobbedlygooker, who hatched out of an egg on the night of The Undertaker’s debut. The Gobbledygooker showed up and then rolled up Truth to win the title.

Dual-branded Battle Royal

Participants (SmackDown): Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio, Chad Gable, Shinsuke Nakamura, Apollo Crews, Kalisto, Robert Roode, Murphy, Dolph Ziggler

Most of the wrestlers were already in the ring and did not have their entrances shown on TV. Rey, Dominik and Murphy got an actual entrance as they walked out together to Rey’s music. The Miz and John Morrison were also given full entrances.

The final 4 were Chad Gable, Jeff Hardy, The Miz and Dominik Mysterio. Gable eliminated Hardy. Dominik eliminated Gable and The Miz eliminated Dominik. Dominik was eliminated by Miz because he thought Miz was eliminated earlier.

There was a backstage segment with King Corbin telling Kevin Owens to follow his lead. Billie Kay offered her resume to Corbin.

The Men’s Survivor Series was seen talking backstage as the Kickoff show ended.

Main Card

Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown
AJ Styles, Keith Lee, Sheamus, Braun Strowman, Matt Riddle vs. Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, King Corbin, Jey Uso, Otis

AJ Styles walked out first with his bodyguard and to speak but Riddle interrupted him with his entrance and everyone else walked out. Keith Lee got new music and it was much better than the one they were using before.

Styles and Jey Uso started the match. When Rollins tagged into the match, he didn’t do anything except offer himself to take a Brogue Kick “for the greater good” from Sheamus. Rollins was pinned after being in the match for less than 30 seconds. This appears to be how he is being written off so he could take time off to be with pregnant fiancee Becky Lynch.

Moments later, AJ Styles pinned Owens with the Phenomenal Forearm off the top rope and then Riddle pinned Corbin with the Floating Bro off the top rope. SmackDown was down 5-2 at this point. With help from Riddle, Strowman eliminated Otis with a running powerslam so Jey Uso was the last man on his team as Paul Heyman looked on with concern from the backstage area. Lee pinned Uso with the Spirit Bomb so it was a clean sweep for Team Raw

Sheamus eliminated Seth Rollins via pinfall
AJ Styles eliminated Kevin Owens via pinfall
Matt Riddle eliminated King Corbin via pinfall
Braun Strowman pinned Otis via pinfall

SmackDown Tag Team Champions vs. Raw Tag Team Champions
The Street Profits vs. The New Day

The New Day (Big E included) walked out in full Gears of War armor because they are featured in the game. The Street Profits gave a promo backstage before their entrance. Their promo was a tribute to guys like The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Triple H and Kane and then they said that tonight they will start their own legacy. They plan on taking the torch from The New Day instead of having it handed to them.

It was pointed out that The Street Profits seemed more focused during the match and The New Day were more aggressive than usual. Late in the match, New Day hit the Midnight Hour on Montez but Montez was able to kick out of the pin attempt. Ford hit his frog splash on Kingston moments later but Montez was slow to make the cover because of his damaged ribs and that gave time for Kingston to recover in time to kick out of the pin attempt.

The Street Profits won after they hit a Blockbuster (Xavier on Dawkins shoulders) off the top rope. This was a very good match. New Day and Street Profits hugged after the match.

They showed both of the women’s Raw and SmackDown teams backstage. Nia Jax said that Lana would not be tagged in.

US Champion vs. IC Champion
Bobby Lashley vs. Sami Zayn

The Hurt Business were at ringside to support Lashley. Zayn tried to leave in the first couple of minutes of the match because Lashley was dominating him but Shelton Benjamin was in his way. Zayn was finally able to hit some offense but it didn’t last long because Lashley threw Zayn across the ring.

Every time Lashley was about to finish the match, Zayn rolled out of the ring. Zayn tried to get The Hurt Business to punch him to get a DQ win. Then he tried to leave again but Lashley caught up to him and continued to beat him up at ringside but Zayn was able to ram Lashley into the ring post. Zayn tried the Helluva Kick but Lashley caught him and then chokeslammed him.

Zayn tried to leave again but MVP brought him back in the ring and Lashley won via submission with The Hurt Lock.

Backstage Jimmy and Jey Uso were talking and Roman Reigns walked in. Reigns said that Jey is not being respected and he doesn’t have a place at the table. He told him to find Jimmy and to leave the arena because tonight, he doesn’t have time for losers.

Raw Women’s Champion vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion
Asuka vs. Sasha Banks

In the opening minute of the match, Banks tried to get Asuka to tap to an armbar and then the Banks Statement. She also hit the Back Stabber in the first 2 minutes of the match but Asuka kicked out of the pin attempt.

Late in the match, Banks tried to hit a Meteora from the barricade onto Asuka on the floor but Asuka turned into a Code Breaker. As they got back into the ring, both women got 2 close near falls.

Asuka hit another Codebreaker later in the match but this time it was while Banks was draping on the second rope in the ring. There were several near fall sequences, similar to Steamboat/Savage III. Banks won the match with a roll up. Excellent match.

They planted the seeds for a rematch because Graves said that Banks won but it wasn’t as definitive as she wanted.

They recapped the action from the Kickoff show. The Gobbeldygooker was shown backstage and being lured by bird seed.  Tozawa snuck up on him and rolled him up to win the title. R-Truth attacked Tozawa with a bag of birdseed and he won back his title for the 45th time.

Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown
Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, Peyton Royce, Lacey Evans, Lana vs. Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott, Bayley, Natalya

Natalya did everything she could to make Lana look good but Lana held her own and she has clearly improved. Jax tagged herself in and then ordered Lana to stand on the steps so she wouldn’t be able to tag in.

Minutes later, Royce hit a superplex onto all of the women who were all grouped together at ringside as Lana watched from the steel steps. Royce then hit Deja Vu to pin Bayley. Natalya defeated Royce with the sharpshooter.

Evans tagged in and she faced Natalya. Evans missed a moonstault and Natalya tried a sharpshooter but Baszler ran in and Evans hit the Woman’s Right and pinned Nattie. Up next was Belair vs. Evans. Belair hit Evans after hitting a face-first slam and then she went for a move off the top but Evans caught her and hit a Spanish Fly off the top. Evans went for the pin but The Riott Squad broke it up.

Jax and Ruby Riott faced off and then Liv Morgan tagged in and created a 2 on 1 scenario against Jax. Jax tagged herself out to Baszler. Baszler caught Riott in the Kirafuta Clutch but she turned it into a pinfall but the ref was distracted to see the pin attempt. Riott was still knocked out so Baszler simply pinned her.

Up next was Morgan vs. Evans. Morgan pinned Evans with a Crucifix. Up next was Morgan vs. Jax and it did not last long because Jax pinned her with the Samoan Drop. Bianca Belair was the final member left on her team. Belair looked fantastic when she was hitting her offense on Jax. Jax tried to end it with a leg drop but Belair kicked out of the pin attempt. Jax went for a move off the middle rope but Belair kicked her off and Baszler tagged herself in. Baszler locked in the Kirafuta Clutch but Belair stood up with Baslzer on her back and then she managed to get to the bottom rope. Belair was unconscious but Baszler would not let go of the hold so she was disqualified.

Jax was about to put Belair through the table at ringside but she shoved Jax into the ring steps and then she backdropped Jax over the barricade. Both women were counted out, which meant that Lana is the sole Survivor of her team.

WWE Universal Champion vs. WWE Champion
Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre

Micahel Cole noted that McIntyre has never been Reigns before and Money In The Bank briefcase holder The Miz is lurking.

This was a back and forth match with plenty of big man power moves. Late in the match we started seeing the near falls and kick outs from finishers.

Reigns went for a Superman punch but McIntyre turned it into a spinebuster into a pin attempt that Reigns kicked out of. Moments later, McIntyre hit a Glasgow kick but they countered each other until McIntyre hit the Futureshock DDT but Reigns kicked out.

Reigns eventually took over on offense and then he tried the spear but McIntyre countered into a Kimura lock. Reigns got to the ropes. At ringside, McIntyre charged at Reigns but Reigns caught him in a Samoan drop through the announcer’s table. The table didn’t break so he did it again. Reigns then speared McIntyre through the barricade and then he brought him into the ring but McIntyre kicked out of the pin attempt.

Reigns tried a spear but McIntyre kicked him. McIntyre went for the Claymore but Reigns caught him with a spear. McIntyre barely kicked out. Reigns went for a spear but McIntyre hit the Claymore and that knocked Reigns into the referee, who took a bump to the outside of the ring. Jey Uso ran out but was knocked off the ring by McIntyre. Reigns hit a low blow, Uso kicked McIntyre and Reigns hit the Superman punch and then he locked in the guillotine submission. Another referee ran out as the hold was locked in. McIntyre stood up but his legs buckled as he passed out. The ref called it for Reigns.

The Undertaker’s Final Farewell

Before Taker was introduced, they introduced several legends who were there. The names were Shane McMahon, The Big Show, JBL, Jeff Hardy, Mick Foley, The Godfather, Henry and Phineas Godwin, Savio Vega, Rikishi, Kevin Nash, Booker T, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Triple H and Kane. They showed a great video package about Taker’s career after all of the legends were in the ring.

After the video, Vince McMahon was shown in the ring and he spoke about Taker’s injuries and hardships and how his character struck terror into his opponents while entertaining the WWF and WWE Universe. McMahon said tonight is the end of an era and he said, “tonight we say goodbye.” Reigns said the legacy of The Undertaker will live on eternally. Vince then introduced The Undertaker like he used to in the 90’s during an in-ring interview segment.

Taker got lightning and electricity sounds to the sound of his theme and then his actual theme played. This was a WrestleMania level entrance and it’s clear that they spent a ton of money on this.

Taker said he laid waste to so many but “now my time has come.” They piped in “Thank You Taker” chants and then he spoke again. He said, “my time has come to let The Undertaker rest in peace.” They piped in the “Rest In Peace” and there was a glitch so it was awkward. Then they piped in “Thank You Taker” chants again. Taker then tipped his hat and then posed in the middle of the ring.

Paul Bearer’s image appeared on the big screen during Taker’s pose and then they piped in “Undertaker” chants. The toll rang 10 times and then Taker stood up and did the neck slash gesture and then he walked up the ramp. Taker posed with his fist in the air as they played lightning sounds with fire around the stage. He walked to the back and the show faded to black.
