Adam Cole put his NXT Championship on the line against Pete Dunne at this year’s WWE Survivor Series. Dunne became the number 1 contender at TakeOver: WarGames after beating Damian Priest and Killian Dain in a Triple Threat Match. Cole had his ribs taped from the beating he took in the WarGames match.
Before the match got started, Michael Cole provided an update on Mauro Ranallo, who was not at the show. Click here for the latest on Ranallo.
This was a very good match. About 10 minuted in, Dunne hit the Bitter End and came very close to pinning Cole. Shortly after that, Dunne did a running moonsault off the top rope but was caught with a superkick to the face and Cole almost pinned him.
Later on, Cole delivered a Panama Sunrise to Dunne on the apron. That got a huge pop from the crowd. Dunne made it back in the ring before he was counted out but Cole nailed him with a kick to the face and almost pinned him. The fans clapped and were very much into this match. Dunne was able to grab Cole’s hand to do the finger break spot. Dunne tried the bitter end but Cole countered into the panama sunrise and the running knee to the back of the head. Cole pinned Dunne. Great match.
The Undisputed Era celebrated with Cole on the stage.
