Team Raw vs. Team Smackdown was the main event for this year’s WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view. Team Raw consisted of Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman, Finn Balor, and Triple H. Team Smackdown consisted of Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, Bobby Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura, and John Cena.
Some match highlights (written in real-time during the match)…
McMahon started the match with Braun Strowman but McMahon was manhandles so he quickly tagged out to Orton. The fans went nuts because we got to see a few minutes of Balor vs. Nakamura. We also got to see a few minutes of Roode vs. Triple H. The announcers mentioned that Triple H was the one to bring Nakamura and Roode to NXT. We also got to see Roode vs. Angle. Angle was moving around well and was taking normal bumps. He was wearing his normal singlet and seemed to be in good shape. Strowman pinned both Nakamura and Roode and then Joe tagged himself. That led to some tension between members of Team Raw.
Later, the action spilled to the ringside area. All of the members of Team Smackdown (including the two that were eliminated) suplexed Strowman through the announcers table. McMahon was going to hit an elbow on Strowman from the top rope but Joe caught him and suplexed him into the ring. Cena tagged in and we got to see him against Joe for a couple of minutes. The distraction from the Team Raw bickering allowed Cena to hit AA’s on Balor and Joe. Cena pinned Joe. Angle tagged in so we got to see him against Cena for a few minutes. Angle pinned Cena after Balor hit the double stomp and Angle hit the Angle slam. We got Balor vs. Orton for a few minutes. Balor hit a running dropkick on Shane into the barricade at ringside. Orton hit the RKO and pinned Balor. Up next…Triple H vs. Orton. McMahon was about to tag into the match but Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens attacked him at ringside. McMahon fought them off with a steel chair and Orton hit Owens with a RKO in the ring. Strowman got back into the match after several minutes. Strowman hit the running powerslam and pinned Orton. Strowman was ready to take on McMahon but Triple H tagged himself in. Before things got going, Angle tagged himself in. Angle had the ankle lock applied on McMahon but Triple H attacked Angle and hit the pedigree on him and then put McMahon on top of Angle. Triple H stood next to McMahon as Strowman had a confused look on his face. Triple H helped McMahon up to his feet and then hit the pedigree on him. He wanted to be the one to take out McMahon.
Triple H and Braun Strowman were the survivors. Strowman grabbed Triple H and shoved him in the corner. He warned him not to ever double cross him again. Triple H attacked and went for a pedigree but Strowman powered out and hit a couple of powerslams. They went off the air with Triple H laying in the ring.
