Bring It To The Table returned this week on the WWE Network. During the opening seconds of the show, there was a subtle reference to the Mauro Ranallo-JBL controversy. The show opened with Peter Rosenberg talking about the controversy over his comments about Roman Reigns. Corey Graves then said that there’s been a controversy over his comments about Shane McMahon at WrestleMania. Then, the camera cut over to JBL and he had a guilty look on his face (done for comedic effect). We were supposed to think that he was going to mention Ranallo but instead, he said that he won $24 playing golf last week.
That was the only reference and I think it was their way to get it out of the way because there’s probably a large chunk of the fans that watch that show that were hoping to hear the controversy addressed.
As previously noted, Ranallo and WWE reached a settlement which likely means that the parties involved will not publicly talk about what happened. Ranallo remains under contract until August but his deal allows him to call boxing and MMA. He is not expected to return to the company.
