WWE taped WrestleMania Backlash match in advance

Fans got to witness a zombie lumberjack match at WWE WrestleMania Backlash between The Miz and Damien Priest.

Priest went over The Miz at the show to finish their storyline, but it was overshadowed by the fact that WWE thought it was a good idea to use zombies in a pro wrestling match.

The reason there were zombies for the match was to promote Zack Snyder’s new “Army of the Dead” movie on Netflix, which stars Batista.

Unfortunately, The Miz suffered a knee injury in the match. During today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez noted he heard the company taped the match in advance of the show going live.

“You know I was told that lumberjack match was a pre-tape..like they pre-taped it and still put it on television.”

Dave Meltzer brought up that WWE couldn’t film it again because Miz got injured. Alvarez noted that WWE could have edited the match.
