WWE TLC: Asuka wins SmackDown Women’s Title thanks to Ronda Rousey

The first-ever Women’s Tables, Ladders and Chairs match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship was the main event at this year’s WWE TLC pay-per-view. Lynch put her title on the line against Asuka and Charlotte Flair. Earlier in the show, Ronda Rousey promised that “payback is a b*tch” in regards to Flair. This was Lynch’s first match since November 6 just before she was injured by Nia Jax before Survivor Series.

It didn’t take long for the crazy bumps to happen because, in the first few minutes, Lynch took a bump off the top onto a ladder in the ring. Asuka was the first to climb the ladder but Flair caught up to her and pushed her off. Asuka pulled her off. Asuka picked Flair off the ladder a second time and powerbombed her through a table that was in the corner of the ring.  Later, Flair used a chair on Asuka’s back and then hit a moonsault from the top rope onto Lynch and Asuka outside of the ring.

As Flair tried to set up a table at ringside, Lynch got up and destroyed Asuka and Flair with a chair but Flair was able to turn things around and she shoved Lynch into the barricade. Lynch came back with chair shots and then she set up Flair and Asuka on the German announce table. Lynch dove off the top of a massive ladder with a leg drop. Asuka moved by Lynch landed flush on Flair’s ribs.

Asuka got back in the ring to climb the ladder but Lynch ran in and climbed up on the other side of the ladder. Flair got back in and nailed both women with several kendo stick shots to the back. The action spilled to ringside. Lynch hit a Bexpoloder suplex against a table that was up against the barricade. Asuka went nuts with kendo stick shots to Lynch and Flair came out of nowhere with a spear on Asuka through the barricade near the announcer’s area as fans chanted “this is awesome.”

Lynch took the opportunity to get back in the ring so she could climb the ladder but Flair pulled her off.  They ended up brawling and Lynch shoved Flair into the ladder. The brawl continued onto the ringside area with back-and-forth chops. Flair got the upper hand. She did a flip off the top rope onto Lynch and through a table at ringside.

Flair got back in the ring so she could climb the ladder but Asuka got up and fought Flair on the ladder. Lynch set up another ladder in the ring while Flair and Asuka fought on the other one. Asuka fell off the ladder as Flair and Lynch fought on the second ladder. Ronda Rousey made her way to the ring and shoved both Lynch and Flair off the ladder.

Asuka climbed the ladder and she grabbed the belt. She is the new Smackdown Women’s Champion.
