The Intercontinental Championship match between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose was the semi-main event at this year’s TLC pay-per-view. They used Roman Reigns’ leukemia announcement as part of the hype for this match with the idea being that it would help to put more heat on Ambrose.
The story of this match was that Rollins was wrestling with an injured knee. the match started out slow but the pace picked up a few minutes after it started. Late in the match, Ambrose kicked out after taking a superplex off the top and a falcon arrow. The announcers kept pointing out that Rollins was favoring his knee.
Rollins almost went of stomp but Ambrose put out his fist as if he was feeling remorse. Rollins didn’t fall for it and nailed him with a forearm and a kick to the face. Rollins drove Ambrose into the barricade and then buckle bombed him into the barricade. Rollins brought Ambrose back into the ring and then went for the stomp but Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds from out of nowhere. Ambrose got the win. New champion.
