WWE and TNA have big plans for their working relationship, which officially started this week.
TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace will challenge NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez for her title at the June 9th NXT Battleground PLE. Grace is slated to wrestle Stevie Turner in a singles match on next week’s episode of NXT.
As previously reported, fans should expect to see more crossover, as it was reported that Grace’s appearance at the PLE will not be the only WWE-TNA collaboration in the days ahead. The belief is that there will be some sort of NXT representation at future TNA events and programming.
WrestleVotes reported today that the partnership has been months in the making, and there are plans for additional superstars to make crossover appearances in due time. WWE is said to have loved the feedback and energy from Grace’s Royal Rumble appearance in January.
Both companies are said to be understanding that a slow and thoughtful approach is the best way forward in the beginning stages.
While the exact details of the deal are unknown (as they should be), I’m told the partnership between WWE and TNA has been months in the making. WWE loved the feedback and energy from Jordynne Grace’s Rumble appearance and were eager to use her again—opportunely.
