WWE has filed several new trademarks related to Danhausen, suggesting plans to expand the character’s brand within the company.
The filings cover four new names: Girlhausen, Kid-hausen, Ghoulhausen, and Kidhausen. The trademarks span two categories. The first covers entertainment services, including wrestling exhibitions and performances rendered live and through broadcast media, television, radio, and the internet, as well as wrestling news and information, fan club services, online newsletters, and blogs in the field of sports entertainment. The second covers a broad range of merchandise, including clothing, outerwear, footwear, headwear, Halloween and masquerade costumes, wristbands, bandanas, and championship trophy belts.
Danhausen, real name Daniel Hollands, built his following on the independent wrestling circuit over several years before signing with AEW in October 2019. Known for his face paint, jar of teeth, and a character built around cursing opponents and chasing wealth and fame, Danhausen became one of the most recognizable acts on the independent scene and developed a dedicated fanbase well before appearing on national television. He became one of AEW’s top merchandise sellers during his time with the company, consistently ranking among the promotion’s highest-moving acts despite limited television exposure. He last competed for AEW at All In London in August 2024 and departed the company before signing with WWE.
Danhausen made his WWE debut at Elimination Chamber on February 28 in Chicago, Illinois, emerging from a mystery crate that had been shipped back and forth between Raw and SmackDown for weeks. Accompanied by a squad of dancers wearing his facepaint, he paraded to the ring in a theatrical entrance capped by a small poof of pyro. The United Center crowd was largely unfamiliar with him and responded with confused boos. Despite the rough debut, a report from FightfulSelect.com noted that those spoken to backstage were happy with how Danhausen handled the situation, saying it did not rattle him and that he responded well.
Since his debut, Danhausen has appeared regularly on both Raw and SmackDown in backstage segments. He placed a curse on Dominick Mysterio, who went on to lose the Intercontinental Championship, and on El Grande Americano, who was unable to compete in his scheduled match later that night.
