Rey Mysterio’s final non-WWE appearance is this weekend for Chris Jericho’s Rock N Rager at Sea.
Mysterio is advertised as a guest (he will not be wrestling) and before he signed his WWE contract, he let them know that he wanted to fulfill his commitment. That did not stop WWE from trying to get him to pull out.
It was reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE was trying to convince Mysterio not to go on the cruise this weekend. He is not booked on any WWE live events this weekend because of the cruise. It sure makes you wonder if there are issues between Jericho and WWE these days.
This is similar to what they tried with the All In show. If you recall, WWE tried to get Mysterio signed before All In so they could get him to pull out of that show.
The cruise is sold out with 2,300 fans expected to watch several unique matches including the Sea of Honor tournament. The cruise will feature the “one time only” match featuring The Young Bucks and Jericho taking on Kenny Omega, Marty Scurll and Cody Rhodes. Scurll will also take on Impact Wrestling star Sami Callihan in a singles match.
