Netflix has announced a new docuseries titled “WWE: Unreal,” which promises to take fans behind the curtain and into the WWE writer’s room for the first time ever. The five-episode series is scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
The logline for the series states: “For the first time ever, step into the WWE writer’s room and outside the ring with your favorite WWE Superstars, where the drama is just as intense offstage as it is under the spotlight.”
The series comes from a team of high-profile producers, including Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions and NFL Films, who have collaborated on successful sports documentary projects in the past. Skydance Sports and WWE join them as production companies. The series is directed by Chris Weaver and showrun by Erik Powers.
The announcement is the latest development in WWE and Netflix’s landmark partnership, which began in January 2025 when Monday Night Raw moved exclusively to the streaming platform in the U.S. and other international markets. The deal also includes international distribution rights for other WWE programming, such as SmackDown, NXT, and major premium live events.
