WWE had some interesting ideas for Adam Cole on the main roster if he decided to re-sign with the promotion in late August. However, he ended up leaving to join AEW.

It’s been previously reported that WWE had pitched the idea of turning Cole into a manager for Keith Lee. They also considered changing his name. The manager role would’ve been what WWE did with Lio Rush and Bobby Lashley as a smaller guy would be talking for the bigger man.

Fightful Select reported today that in early talks and pitches for Cole on the main roster included an idea floated to Cole that he could cut his hair in order to establish a new look. However, the report stated the former NXT Champion made it clear he wasn't interested in that, and the pitch wasn't made again.

Those in WWE have praised Cole for being transparent in what he did and didn't like creatively in addition to the way that he handled things on his way out of the company.

Cole made his AEW debut at the All Out pay-per-view event earlier this month and has since worked two matches. He will square off with Jungle Boy on Wednesday’s Dynamite.
