WWE was in talks with a major name to appear at WrestleMania

It looks like Hulk Hogan was almost set to be part of this year’s WWE WrestleMania pay-per-view but those plans fell through.

Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the two sides could not come to financial terms but if he was going to appear he was not going to wrestle.

Hogan has said that he’s been training for months in hopes of getting one final match at WrestleMania. Hogan has also said that he doesn’t want his last match to be anywhere besides WWE. His last match was several years ago during TNA’s United Kingdom tour.

Never say never in wrestling but with Hogan, it seems unlikely that he will ever get cleared to take a bump because of the number of injuries he is dealing with and he has trouble moving around these days. A few months back on Steve Austin’s podcast, he admitted that it takes some time for him to get out of bed to get his day started.

Hogan was supposed to be inducted into this year’s WWE Hall Of Fame as part of the NWO alongside Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Sean Waltman. There is no word yet on when the ceremony will take place but the rumor in WWE is that they are hoping for SummerSlam weekend.
