WWE Wrestlepalooza Opening Match Announced, New Match Potentially Leaked

A new championship match for this Saturday’s WWE Wrestlepalooza may have been revealed, but its status is now in question as it involves a superstar who was recently announced as not being medically cleared to compete. According to a report from PWInsider.com, an official event t-shirt available at the Wrestlepalooza store in Indianapolis lists a triple threat match for the WWE Women’s Championship between Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, and Jade Cargill.

This merchandise reveal comes just days after NXT General Manager Ava announced that Stratton was being pulled from an upcoming NXT event due to injury. On Monday afternoon, Ava posted on X to announce a change to the NXT Homecoming card, stating that Tiffany Stratton was not medically cleared following her recent title match on SmackDown.

“After her WWE Women’s Championship Match on SmackDown, Tiffany Stratton is not medically cleared to compete at Homecoming,” Ava wrote. “As a result, former NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria will be taking her place in the six-woman tag team match against Fatal Influence”. Stratton’s most recent match was a title challenge against Jade Cargill on the previous Friday’s episode of SmackDown, where she presumably sustained the injury.

The fact that WWE produced and is selling merchandise featuring the triple threat match indicates it was, at minimum, the planned contest for the premium live event. Stratton’s injury may be minor and she was pulled from the NXT event as a precaution, with the company hopeful she will be cleared in time for Wrestlepalooza on Saturday. Alternatively, the merchandise may have been produced before the injury occurred.

For now, WWE has not officially announced the match for the show.Pat McAfee has announced that John Cena vs Brock Lesnar will kick off the show. Joe Tessitore originally reported that it would be the main event, so it seems plans have changed. Here is the current card:

John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar

WWE Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre

Vacant Women’s World Championship: IYO SKY vs. Stephanie Vaquer

CM Punk & AJ Lee vs. Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch

Bronson Reed & Bron Breakker vs. The Usos
