WWE's big plans for Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania (Spoilers)

WWE had plans to set up Roman Reigns as the heir apparent over the next six months. As most fans know by now, Reigns is injured and underwent surgery for an incarcerated hernia on Saturday so that put a dent in WWE's plans. It should be noted that although the timeframe for his return is four to twelve weeks, it was a large hernia so his time would likely be longer than shorter. Also with that type of surgery he wouldn't be able to lift for weeks so he would also need to get his physique back.

The idea for Reigns was to spend the next few months building up Reigns for the Royal Rumble and the idea was for him to win the Royal Rumble in January. They would follow that up with his title match at WrestleMania. The worst case scenario is that he should be back in time for the Royal Rumble so the injury won't alter their key plans.
