WWE’s Cody Rhodes has a serious injury ahead of tonight’s Hell in a Cell show

During Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast, Dave Meltzer confirmed that Cody Rhodes is indeed injured but he is hoping to get through tonight’s Hell in a Cell match with Seth Rollins.

Last night at the live event in Champaign, Illinois, they did an angle where Seth attacked Cody. Drew McIntyre replaced Cody in the main event of the show but Cody appeared after the match to chase Rollins around the ring and to the back. Meltzer confirmed that WWE did this because the belief is that Cody has a torn pec.

“Cody was injured lifting weights. From what I gather, it’s a pretty serious injury. My impression is that he is working the match tonight with the injury and I guess will get it taken care of later,” Meltzer said. “The injury is legit. Everything that I heard was that he was working tonight. The doctors may say you can’t, I don’t know. It’s not an in-ring injury, it was a weightlifting injury.”

A torn pec could keep Cody on the shelf for months. The injury comes at a time when they need star power because Roman Reigns is working a limited schedule.
