WWE’s current plan for the WrestleMania 35 main event

Plans can always change but it looks like Vince McMahon has a Triple Threat match in mind for the main event at this year’s WrestleMania 35.

As we wrote about before, the previous idea was to do Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey as the main event. Now, the plan is to add Charlotte Flair to that match. If you watched SmackDown Live this week, you could see that they made sure to keep Flair strong and she came across as the star of that match.

Dave Meltzer talked about the current Mania plans on the recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.

“The three-way women’s match, if it’s gonna be the main event, is solid but it’s not a done deal but it is the working idea,” Meltzer said, “That is why the Royal Rumble match was changed. That is why Sasha Banks is getting the title shot completely out of nowhere. Originally it was going  to be Charlotte and Ronda Rousey at the Rumble and Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch at WrestleMania.”

“Now, Vince can change his mind and it’s not etched in stone. I was told specifically that if you talk too much about it, it may jinx it but that’s the working idea right now is that match.”

This should answer the questions that were asked on Monday night when Sasha Banks was suddenly inserted into the title picture. Things should be clearer in a couple of weeks at the Royal Rumble.
