WWE’s Gable Steveson No Longer Wrestling at World Championships

Gable Steveson has withdrawn from this month’s Senior World Championships.

In 2020, Steveson won the Olympic Gold Medal in freestyle wrestling after winning gold at the 2017 Junior World Championships.

The Olympic Gold Medalist beat Baron Corbin in his in-ring debut at the WWE NXT Great American Bash premium live event from the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park in Austin, Texas.

This comes after he returned to amateur wrestling earlier this year when he won the US Open this past April. He also wrestled again at Final X in June.

It was announced by USA Wrestling that they’ve been notified that Steveson is no longer competing at the tournament in Belgrade, Serbia.

Heavyweight wrestler Mason Parris will replace Steveson. It’s unclear why Steveson pulled out of the tournament.

The tournament will take place from September 16 to September 24.
