Roman Reigns and John Cena have had an interesting program going into No Mercy. Their back-and-forth promo during that contract signing was epic and felt so real some considered it a shoot. But these two have a long way to go until September 24th rolls around when the two finally meet in Los Angeles.
Most would have considered their feud a WrestleMania worthy encounter. But instead it will be placed on No Mercy to further elevate an already stacked card headlined by Brock Lesnar vs Braun Strowman for the Universal Title. But this match is obviously happening at No Mercy because it needs to.
Many people are wondering how this match will end what what’s next for John Cena. It’s common knowledge John Cena has a huge movie career ahead of him that seems to only get bigger around every turn. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports WWE’s plans are still for Roman Reigns to headline WrestleMania 34 against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title so that’s what he’s looking forward to.
WWE really wants to make a huge deal out of Reigns and they’re looking ahead to The Show Of Shows. The intention with the No Mercy match will be to get Roman over. Whether he wins or loses, the intention will be to make Roman look good in the long run.
After all, sometimes a true babyface needs to lose a few battles in order to get people to rally behind him.
