WWE’s lead writer responds to fan complaints on how Becky Lynch has been booked

“Road Dogg” Jesse James is one of the few WWE officials who regularly interacts with fans on social media in regards to ongoing storylines. In a recent tweet to a fan asking WWE to listen, James said, “We’re listening, what would you have us do? She’s in the best women’s story, arguably the best story going today? What else can we do?”

In response to another tweet, James did not disagree about the not idea of putting the Smackdown Women’s Championship on Lynch but he brought up how Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock were super over and they didn’t always have the title.

Another fan wrote to James and said that nobody really sees her as a heel. James responded and basically confirmed what was reported last week that WWE was pulling back from portraying Lynch as a heel. Instead, she is in a tweener role similar to Steve Austin in 1997. James said, “I don’t see her as a heel. I just see her as a Bad A$$ but I guess we see things differently”

It will be interesting to see what happens on Sunday night when Lynch challenges for the Smackdown Women’s Championship at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.
