An update has emerged regarding WWE’s plans for the men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series, following the injury sustained by Seth Rollins. Rollins’ shoulder injury, suffered at Crown Jewel, forced him to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship and has caused changes to previously reported plans.
The original reported lineup for the match was Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Austin Theory, and Brock Lesnar facing CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jacob Fatu, and either LA Knight or Jimmy Uso. With Rollins now sidelined, adjustments were expected.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, despite Rollins’ absence, the core concept for the match appears to remain intact as of press time. “Since many have asked, as of press time, the men’s WarGames match was still a Punk & Reigns team against The Vision-led team,” the report stated.
The Observer also noted that an alternative match, potentially involving the ongoing feud between The Wyatt Sicks and The MFT’s, was considered but is not the current direction. “Some thought with all the injuries that it would be changed to the Wyatts vs. MFTs since they are clearly doing a multi-person program there as well,” Meltzer wrote.
WWE Survivor Series: WarGames is scheduled for Saturday, November 29, at Petco Park in San Diego, California. The Vision currently consists of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, managed by Paul Heyman, following their turn on Seth Rollins. CM Punk is currently scheduled to face Jey Uso for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1.
