WWE NXT is gearing up for its debut on The CW Network in just a few months and has big plans in place.
NXT will travel to Allstate Arena in Chicago on Tuesday, October 1, and the Enterprise Center in St. Louis on Tuesday, October 8, for the first two episodes of NXT on The CW. WWE also confirmed special appearances by CM Punk in Chicago and Randy Orton in St. Louis. Tickets for both events go on sale Thursday, August 15, at 10 a.m. local time.
WWE is expected to load up those shows with big matches. Last November, WWE and The CW Network announced a five-year agreement.
PWInsider.com reports that there has been talk within the company of holding shows outside of the Performance Center more often than what the company is doing now. They believe the move to the network will help raise NXT’s prestige.
Internally, the hope is that NXT will be a jumping-on point for younger audiences who find the product. WWE also plans to feature more main roster talent as potential regulars and guest stars to further help the brand.
