WWE has announced that former AEW star Rey Fenix will make his in-ring debut for the promotion on Friday’s episode of SmackDown but didn’t say who the opponent will be.
On a recent edition of SportsKeeda’s Backstage Pass Q&A, WrestleVotes stated that there was supposed to be a segment on SmackDown with Andrade being told about a new talent coming to SmackDown three weeks ago. However, it was nixed.
It was speculated that this may indicate that Andrade could be Fenix’s opponent. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted Fenix is expected to feud with Andrade.
Meltzer stated, “By the way, Fenix is going to be feuding with Andrade. I don’t know if they’ll do it on Friday.”
