WWE has a 10-year partnership with the Saudi General Sports Authority, which could be expanding in a big way. The ongoing relationship sees the company get paid big money for hosting two shows a year in Saudi Arabia.
WWE is believed to take in $50 million per show in the country, based on SES reports. WWE started to tape SmackDown and Raw events last year. With the Netflix deal, WWE will air Raw live from the country going forward when it hosts events.
WWE confirmed earlier this month that the Royal Rumble will be held in January 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This marks the first time the Royal Rumble will be hosted outside North America. Many feel that it’s just a matter of time before the country holds a WrestleMania.
Fightful Select reports that thus far, they’ve only heard of one WWE event planned for Saudi Arabia in 2025. That event is targeted for June in Jeddah. WWE hasn’t held a June show in Saudi Arabia since 2019’s Super Showdown.
This event was infamously headlined by Goldberg vs. The Undertaker. Should there only be one event this year, it will be the first time that’s happened since 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.
