WWE’s Plans For WrestleMania 42 Location Not Locked In Yet

The internet ran wild on Saturday morning with the apparent news of WWE WrestleMania 42 coming to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

While speaking in a Twitter Q&A video, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro claimed WrestleMania 42 in 2026 will take place in Philadelphia. He said this while listing all of the events that will be hosted by the city in 2026.

WWE held WrestleMania 40 earlier this year at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. WWE has previously confirmed WrestleMania 41 in 2025 is slated for Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium and a future WrestleMania at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

According to PWInsider.com, after speaking with sources, WWE has not discussed this internally, and a well-placed source who would be involved in plans for the event’s location in 2026 stated that nothing has been locked in yet. It was added that some people “wondered if Shapiro just meant to reference WWE as a whole, not Mania itself, and incorrectly spoke, but couldn’t state whether that was indeed the case.”

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that WWE isn’t ready to reveal a location,, and company officials were surprised by the Governor’s comments.

WrestleVotes has also been told the following:

Manuel Bonder, the spokesman for Governor Shapiro, issued the following statement to us:

“This statement was mistaken, and we apologize for the confusion amid all the incredible events Pennsylvania is excited to host in 2026. While WrestleMania won’t be here in ‘26, we look forward to continuing to work with WWE and wrestling fans all across our Commonwealth to bring more great events to PA in the future.”
