It was expected that Lucha Underground star and current Major League Wrestling talent, Shane Strickland, would be a part of WWE’s new recruits to the Performance Center in January. However, PWInsider is now reporting that a contractual concern with Lucha Underground could delay his WWE signing. His Lucha Underground contract is set to expire soon, however, it’s believed that there’s an issue with the deal, and until it’s resolved, he won’t be able to sign with WWE.
During his time with Lucha, Strickland worked under the “Killshot” character. Strickland will continue doing his work for MLW, but given his WWE signing will be delayed, he’ll work more MLW dates than expected. Next week’s MLW tapings won’t be his last. He’s now scheduled to be at MLW’s show in Philadelphia on February 3rd as well.
Strickland is currently slated to face Rush at MLW’s December 13th taping in Miami. MLW was preparing for Strickland’s exit from the promotion since September.
