The Wyatt Sicks Capture WWE Tag Team Championship on SmackDown

New WWE Tag Team Champions were crowned on Friday Night SmackDown as Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy of The Wyatt Sicks defeated The Street Profits. The victory came after interference from their stablemate, Erick Rowan.

Match Recap

The championship match began with Angelo Dawkins and Joe Gacy trading holds, with neither man gaining a sustained advantage. Montez Ford tagged in, but was quickly pulled out of the ring by Dexter Lumis. Later in the match, Dawkins hit a hot tag and took control, hitting a running shoulder charge, a spinning clothesline, and a neckbreaker on Gacy. He then flew over the top rope with a dive onto both of his opponents on the floor.

Inside the ring, Dawkins hit a Swanton Bomb for a near-fall before Gacy and Lumis regained control with a double-team neckbreaker combination. Later, the action spilled back to the outside where Erick Rowan, who was at ringside with Uncle Howdy and Nikki Cross, pulled Montez Ford out of the ring during a pinfall attempt while the referee was distracted. Dawkins neutralized Rowan with a pounce over the timekeeper’s area.

The Finish

The interference provided the opening the challengers needed. As Ford went to the top rope for a Frog Splash, he missed, allowing Lumis and Gacy to hit their combination powerbomb/neckbreaker finisher. Gacy then pinned Ford to secure the victory and the WWE Tag Team Championship.

The title change has significant implications for the SmackDown tag team division. In a backstage segment following the match, the new team of Andrade and Fenix officially announced their presence in the division, signaling that new challengers are already emerging for the Wyatt Sicks.
