“Young Rock” renewed by NBC for second season

The “Young Rock,” which is about The Rock’s life, series on NBC is coming back for a second season.

On Friday, Deadline reported the news. The season one finale will air this Tuesday. The synopsis for this episodes reads like the following:

“As Election Day 2032 approaches, Dwayne reflects on the ups and downs his family endured during his childhood in Hawaii, Pennsylvania and Miami, and how the unpredictability of his family’s story prepared him for this moment.”

Dwayne Johnson, Joseph Lee Anderson, Stacey Leilua, Adrian Groulx, Bradley Constant, Uli Latukefu, Ana Tuisila, Fasitua Amosa and John Tui star in the series.

The series features actors portraying his parents, Rocky Johnson and Ata Maivia, his Grandmother, Lia Maivia, Andre the Giant, Afa, Sika, Randy Savage, Ricky Steamboat, Vince McMahon, Junkyard Dog, The Iron Sheik and more.

The premiere episode did 5.034 million viewers and a 0.90 rating in the key 18-49 demographic.
