Zack Ryder provides injury update

Zack Ryder will be out of action for several months after he suffered a left knee injury during the #1 Contender’s Tag Team Battle Royal on last Tuesday’s SmackDown Live. He flew to Birmingham, Alabama on Thursday and underwent knee surgery.

Obviously, WWE will have to change their plans as Ryder and Mojo Rawley were scheduled to challenge Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt for the Smackdown Live Tag Team Championships on the December 27th episode of SmackDown Live. As of this writing, WWE has not announced who will team up with Rawley to challenge for the Tag Team Championships.

Ryder noted on Twitter on Monday that he has been told that he could be out of action for 4-6 or 6-9 months. We wish him a speedy recovery.
