Zelina Vega Addresses Rumors Of Real Life Heat With Mercedes Mone And Jade Cargill

WWE’s Zelina Vega has directly addressed online speculation and fan-driven narratives suggesting she has had real-life “beef” or feuds with fellow wrestlers Jade Cargill and Mercedes Moné over similarities in hair color or style. Speaking on the “Ring The Bell” podcast, Vega dismissed these notions emphatically, stating fans who believed in these feuds “got worked.”

The discussion arose when host DS Shin mentioned online talk about potential rivalries stemming from hair choices. Vega found the idea amusing. “So stupid. Oh my god, but it’s like, a whole discussion, dude,” she said. “Jade and I were laughing, okay, when this was going on, like, her, like, we didn’t think people were gonna take it that serious, you know what I mean.”

Vega revealed she and Jade Cargill were in communication while the online chatter was happening. “So we’re like, texting, and she’s just like, ‘Oh God, like, this is turning into something way bigger than I thought.’ And I was like, ‘Yes, because the internet hates me.’” She continued, “Unfortunately for the people who wish that that was true, no, sorry to burst your bubbles, but you got worked.” Vega mentioned that while it could have potentially become a storyline, it never did, and it was just fans overanalyzing. “It was just such a thing. I was like, wow, people really over hair. Now, over hair. Interesting.”

Regarding Mercedes Moné (formerly Sasha Banks in WWE), Vega also debunked any notion of long-standing animosity. She explained that an old interview clip, where she expressed a desire to face Moné, was often misinterpreted as proof of a feud. “People use that clip as, like, ‘Oh my god. They’ve had beef forever.’ Blah, blah, blah. I’m like, I love that. I convinced you all of that. Like, I love that for me.”

Vega clarified her original intent: “My brain was, I need to get to WWE in any way possible. Like, she’s one of the top girls. Like, I want to get in the ring with her. She’s been dope. Like, I want to do this, and she was cool with it.” She asserted, “No, we’ve, none of us have ever had any beef. And it’s so funny to me that, like I’m the common denominator between all of the beef. Apparently.”

She also humorously pointed out the absurdity of fans trying to find connections to fuel the idea of a feud with Moné, such as them having cousins who train together. “Like they’re trying to find any little thing. Like, if I genuinely hated somebody, you think I’d be cool with that? Like, come on, come on. Be so for real,” Vega stated.
