The hype train for former WWE NXT Champion Andrade “Cien” Almas has certainly slowed down in the past few months. Almas signed with WWE back in 2015 and was sent to WWE’s developmental brand of NXT. After three years on NXT, which included a run as NXT Champion after defeating Drew McIntyre at NXT TakeOver: WarGames, Almas was sent to the main roster. He was drafted to SmackDown Live in April, making his main roster debut with a short-lived feud against Sin Cara.
Almas went on to share the ring against the likes of Daniel Bryan and then-WWE Champion AJ Styles. After a feud against Lana and Rusev, Almas hasn’t been doing much on Tuesday nights. On yesterday’s episode of SmackDown Live (pre-taped last week) Almas suffered a loss to Mustafa Ali in Singles action. Almas’ manager, Zelina Vega, took to Twitter and noted that’s not the way they wanted to end 2018. However, she promised 2019 would be much different for Almas:
“This is not how we wanted to end 2018.. Time for me to go back to the drawing board because 2019 WILL NOT be the same. I made this change once, I can definitely do it again. The
@WWE universe hasn’t even scratched the surface of seeing what @AndradeCienWWE can really do.”

The McMahon Family recently noted that they will be doing more to give WWE fans what they want to see. This includes new Superstars being brought up from NXT, possibly new storylines, and more. The possibilities are endless, and with these expected new changes coming, perhaps Almas could get an opportunity to shine the way he did in his first few weeks on the main roster.
