Zelina Vega recently celebrated a career-defining moment, capturing her first singles championship in WWE, the Women’s United States Championship, by defeating Chelsea Green on the WWE SmackDown episode immediately following WrestleMania 41. Coincidentally, the same night marked the dramatic WWE return of her husband, Aleister Black, after nearly four years.
This timing led some WWE fans to speculate that Vega’s championship victory was orchestrated solely due to Black’s comeback. Speaking on Hot 97 with Peter Rosenberg, Vega directly addressed and dismissed these suggestions.
“It’s like the fact that, mind you, this was not planned, which I laugh about when I see a lot of the fans are like, ‘Oh my God, the only reason that she got this title is because her husband was coming back.’ I’m like, ‘Don’t you think they would have made it the world title?’” she stated.
