GFW: “James Storm Suffers Grade 3 Concussion”

GFW IMPACT Wrestling is reporting that James Storm suffered a Grade 3 concussion during the strap match with Ethan Carter III at the Slammiversary pay-per-view. The company is saying that there is no timeline for his return to action. Given the seriousness of concussions and the fact that the company posted a video of the spot that caused it would seem to indicate that this is a storyline injury. Add to that, they included the hashtag #MustSee in the YouTube video.

During the match at the Slammiversary PPV, Storm made a comeback after the ring post spot and hit EC3 with a superkick but then collapsed before being beaten by a modified version of a Pedigree. After the match, they sent out the medical staff to check on him. Storm’s longtime friend Bob Ryder was at ringside to help get over the seriousness of the injury.

Storm did not appear in front of the crowd at the Monday or Tuesday night tapings. The only legitimate injury that we heard about from Slammiversary was to LAX member Diamante as she was limping around backstage at the tapings. She may need to get knee surgery but she is going to get through this week’s tapings, and will likely be kept out of in-ring action to avoid doing any more damage to her knee.

Other GFW notes (Spoilers below):

There was another Impact Wrestling taping on Tuesday night.

Click here for spoilers from Monday’s Impact Wrestling tapings.

– The big angle at Tuesday’s tapings centered around Alberto El Patron and whether or not he was really joining LAX.

– Josh Mathews is still on commentary alongside Jeremy Borash and The Pope so the loss on Sunday did not lead to his exit at the announce table.

– Grado has resolved his visa issues and was back at the tapings.

– It looks like they are building to an eventual Sienna vs. Gail Kim match. Perhaps, that match will take place at Bound For Glory in October and could be the date for Gail’s last match. As noted earlier, she said that 2017 would be her last year as a wrestler. Gail has been dealing with back issues which is why she hasn’t been on TV in recent months.

We will have complete spoilers up on the site shortly.
