Jerry Lawler and his fiancee Lauryn McBride appeared in a Memphis court on Friday morning and prosecutors have dropped assault charges that were filed against the couple. Both Lawler and McBride were joined by their attorneys at the hearing.
Lawler and McBride allegedly got into an argument that turned violent on last month. Lawler maintains that McBride arrived home drunk and he there was no physical altercation. WWE suspended Lawler due to the incident following the news of their arrest.
Lawler’s attorney stated to Commercial Appeal that the incident was “a big misunderstanding and won’t happen again. We are happy with the outcome.”
WWE has yet to lift Lawler’s suspension as of this writing.
