The reactions are coming in following the news that WWE Hall Of Famer passed away on Sunday morning. When his in-ring career ended in the early 1980s, Fuji became known as a dastardly heel who often helped win matches for his wrestlers by throwing salt in their eyes. In recent years, his Fuji Vice videos became popular online and he was able to reach a new demographic thanks to YouTube and the WWE Network. Behind the scenes, he was known as one of the most prolific ribbers in the business. If you’ve listened to a shoot interview from an 80s wrestler that worked in the WWF then there’s a good chance that you’ve heard a Fuji story.
Fuji was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2007. Check out some of the tweets from people in the wrestling industry:
An unforgettable character in front of the camera and an even better one behind it. Rest in Peace, Mr. Fuji. pic.twitter.com/NkpQE8pyAU
