NXT is the impressive developmental territory for WWE and every three months their TakeOver specials continue to impress us to no end. Often times the TakeOver show eclipses the main roster pay-per-view which follows the next day.
But there seems to be an issue when it comes to providing every amazing talent on the NXT roster with the chance of fighting for a title. This subject was recently brought up on an episode of Wrestling Observer Live where host Bryan Alvarez had an interesting piece of information regarding NXT’s current title situation.
“I’m not saying this is a guarantee, I know they have talked about adding a secondary men’s title to NXT,” Bryan Alvarez said. “Maybe it would be a television title or something like that. They’re rather old-school in the sense that this is not like Vince McMahon’s Raw today where Neville loses on Monday and wins [Sunday]… The New Day wins their title they lose it there.”
If NXT introduced a new title to the equation then it might answer a lot of the problems. After all, there are a lot of great talents who will never make their way up to the main event scene in NXT before their time comes to be called up to WWE’s main roster. It would also give these amazing developmental talents something more to fight for and one more chance to steal the show.
