There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the Intercontinental Championship especially seeing how it wasn’t even defended at SummerSlam. The Miz seems rather frustrated with his current position on the roster and rightfully so. He keeps getting upstaged by everything from doors opening late to beach balls. Now he’s a champion without a real challenger.
It was reported WWE was going to move Jason Jordan over to feud with the Miz and try to capture his IC Title but apparently that program isn’t doing very well if anything because JJ’s not getting over the way WWE officials would have liked. Although Miz could defend his IC Title against Jason Jordan, Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio they’ll likely have that match on television.
It is being speculated at this point Miz’s next big challenger for his IC Title might be a very big challenge indeed. Samoa Joe is supposedly being moved into the slot to face Miz for his favorite white accessory: the Intercontinental Championship. Meltzer noted how if Joe challenged for the IC title then he’d probably wind up winning it which might not be the worst thing for a title they want to make look strong.
Miz has done a great job as a heel champion, but Samoa Joe would likely be the one turning babyface for this feud if it goes down.
