WWE Championship match set for Hell in a Cell, major name returning to WWE TV next week

The WWE Championship match is officially set for next month’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.

As many of you saw on this week’s episode of Smackdown Live, Shinsuke Namakura defeated Randy Orton in the main event of the show to earn a rematch with Jinder Mahal. Nakamura got the clean win over Orton after hitting the Kinshasa.

The rematch continues the story of Mahal continuing to hold on to his title with help from The Singh Brothers. The belief is that Mahal vs. Nakamura will take place in side the Hell in a Cell with the idea being that The Singh Brothers will not be able to interfere.

We should know more matches by next week. It’s clear that Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens will be announced for the PPV and that will likely take place inside the cell. Vince McMahon is scheduled to return to WWE TV next week with an announcement so that might be when the match is made. This would be a rare Smackdown appearance for McMahon.

Also, Natalya is scheduled to defend her title against Naomi on next week’s Smackdown Live so we should have a better idea of the storyline plans for the Smackdown Women’s title after next week.

The dual-branded shows mean that WWE has to promote two pay-per-views at the same time. So far, 6 matches have been announced for No Mercy. Click here to read what matches have been officially announced.

Here is what has been announced for next week’s Smackdown Live:

– The return of Mr. McMahon to address the situation between Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon.

– Natalya will defend the Smackdown Women’s Championship against Naomi.

– The Usos will defend the Smackdown Tag Team Championships against The New Day

– AJ Styles will defend the United States Championship against Tye Dillinger.

Also, after Smackdown Live, the finals of the Mae Young Classic will air live on the WWE Network.
