Don’t expect Jinder Mahal to drop the WWE Championship anytime soon

For those of you thinking that Jinder Mahal is a flash in the pan WWE Champion, then you thought wrong. It doesn’t look like his title reign will be ending soon because WWE has shows lined up for India in December. The plan has been to run shows with Mahal as WWE Champion because he will come off as a big-time babyface and he will get tons of media attention before, during, and after the shows.

WWE is scheduled to run Raw-branded shows on 12/7 and 12/8 at the 6,000 seat Indira Grandi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. They have yet to announce names for the shows but I am willing to bet that Mahal and The Singh Brothers will be there even though they are Smackdown stars. It is not uncommon for wrestlers from other brands to appear at select live events, especially international shows.

Another name to look for is Mae Young Classic competitor Kavita Devi. Her match with Dakota Kai (uploaded on 8/30) is approaching 5 million views on YouTube. To my knowledge, she is not signed but those YouTube views could earn her a contract and a spot on that tour. Devi is a former powerlifter from India and a South Asian Games gold medalist. She garnered some media attention in India because she is the first Indian wrestler to appear on a WWE show. She trained under The Great Khali at his Punjab-based wrestling promotion and wrestling academy and gained fame in her home country after one of her matches went viral on YouTube.

Here are the shows scheduled as part of that tour:

12/6 – Abu Dhabi, UAE
12/7 – New Delhi
12/8 – New Delhi
