2017 was the year when several independent wrestlers made their mark outside of WWE. You can argue that wrestlers like Cody Rhodes and Chris Jericho are more popular than they were during the last couple of years in WWE.
Jack Swagger is looking to make waves in 2018 but it looks like he is more focused on MMA. It was announced several weeks ago that he signed a deal with Bellator MMA and his first fight will take place this year.
Swagger said on Twitter that he just got confirmation on something and he will be making a huge announcement on Monday. Perhaps, we will find out his opponent and the date for his first fight.

It seems likely that his announcement is MMA related but I wouldn’t rule out something wrestling-related since he is taking independent dates. We should know more by Monday and we’ll post updates when we get them.
