Over the last few days, there has been some speculation on Enzo Amore’s status with WWE. Some fans on social media have been asking why he was pulled from the upcoming Mixed Match Challenge show on Facebook Watch. Some people speculated that he was being punished for some reason, perhaps, a wellness policy violation. I mean, why would they pull him from the Mixed Match Challenge show because of the flu, especially since the show does not start airing until January 16.
Well, it’s simple and it has nothing to do with a punishment. The real reason why he was pulled from the show is that the company taped promos with each team and they had a schedule for when they would get posted on social media. The Raw teams taped their promos backstage in the afternoon on Monday and the Smackdown teams taped on Tuesday afternoon. The promos had to be done by Wednesday and the company did not want Amore to mingle with the talent and risk getting other people sick. That’s it, nothing to see here.
FYI, the teams are Alexa Bliss and Braun Strowman (Raw), Charlotte Flair and Bobby Roode (Smackdown Live), Sasha Banks and Finn Balor (Raw), Lana and Rusev (Smackdown Live), Naomi and Jimmy Uso (Smackdown Live), Nia Jax and Apollo Crews (Raw). Crews is Amore’s replacement.
Amore is already cleared to wrestle and worked on the live events this weekend. WWE has already announced that he will defend the Cruiserweight Championship against Cedric Alexander this week on Monday Night Raw.
