For those of you that have asked about Bret “The Hitman” Hart not being at the Raw 25th anniversary show, there are no issues between Hart and WWE. Hart was featured in the localize ads that aired in November so there were plans for him to appear on the show.
He was not at the show because, as first reported last week by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Hart had already scheduled surgery on his hand for Monday and the surgeon was flying from Paris to Calgary to perform it.
The surgery was necessary because his 2015 wrist surgery was botched, according to a lawsuit filed in November. That surgery caused him to lose the use of his right index finger and thumb and a decreased range of motion. That has caused him a great deal of discomfort and affects everyday things including his drawing hobby.
Hart wasn’t the only Legend that was absent from the show. Kevin Nash was invited but opted not to fly because he is recovering from knee replacement surgery. Mick Foley cited a prior commitment and Hulk Hogan was not invited. We don’t know why The Rock was not there but my guess is that his schedule would not allow him to appear.
