Ronda Rousey signing with WWE brought a ton of attention to the product and WWE has a pretty good reason to book a WrestleMania match featuring Rousey. After all, she can bring in a lot of press and also help elevate anyone she’s in the ring with by association.
During WWE’s fourth-quarter financial conference call, they were asked about Ronda Rousey’s involvement with WWE from here on out. Specifically, they wanted to know if Rousey would be a part-timer like Brock Lesnar or an Ambassador like Dwayne Johnson.
Triple H stated that they were finalizing the deal now and it would be a multi-year contract which would see WWE getting top priority for Ronda Rousey. WWE would also get “first look” on everything Ronda is offered as well.
Triple H went on to say Rowdy Ronda wants to be in the DNA of WWE so she can make it her life now. Vince McMahon went on to comment how Rousey fits into what WWE is doing and Stephanie McMahon interjected that they’ve seen women go to main event performers and revenue drivers as televised portions featuring women have gone on to be some of the highest rated segments.
It looks like the future of WWE and Ronda Rousey might be a very close relationship for the next few years. Only time will tell what Rousey will be able to accomplish in the ring, but with this kind of preliminary hype, there are bound to be some big things on the way.
