If you have noticed that WWE has not outright said that Asuka is challenging for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania, it looks like there’s a reason for that. On the WWE Elimination Chamber Kickoff show, David Otunga pointed out that Asuka has yet to choose who she will challenge at WrestleMania.
Also, WWE’s official preview leaves things open:
“…However, The Empress of Tomorrow opted to hold off until after WWE Elimination Chamber to choose whether she would face the SmackDown or Raw Women’s Champion at The Showcase of the Immortals. Enter Five Feet of Fury.
Last night, Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss survived the menacing structure and now seems more confident than ever. Will Asuka finally choose to battle The Goddess of WWE, a Superstar she has already defeated? Or will she wait until SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte faces Ruby Riot at WWE Fastlane to make her final decision? The clock is ticking, and it is still not clear if anyone is ready for Asuka.”
So it is possible that Asuka will end up facing Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship and Alexa Bliss will end up defending her title against Nia Jax.
