That blue checkmark next to your name on Twitter can mean a lot to a person. Kevin Owens had one meaning that he was a verified Twitter user but after he was fired by Daniel Bryan on SmackDown Live this week it looks like some things got switched around.
Kevin Owens performed all over under his real name Kevin Steen before going to NXT, but he took on the last name Owens when he signed a WWE contract.
Now it looks like since he’s no longer with WWE, Kevin changed his name back to what it used to be and Twitter certainly noticed. Although it doesn’t appear that he’s lost any followers, Owens lost his blue verification checkmark when he went from Owens to Steen.
The WrestleMania match between Daniel Bryan vs Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn is apparently still a go, but this is certainly an interesting way for it to play out. It should also be noted that WWE still follows both Kevin and Sami. Also, Zayn has get to change his Twitter handle to El Generico just yet.
