As previously noted, Daniel Bryan is advertised for the October Super Show-Down in Australia and a live event in December. As always, the card is subject to change so those dates don’t necessarily mean that Bryan has signed a new deal.
However, WWE had just announced that Bryan is scheduled for the September 4th Smackdown Live in Detroit, MI. Bryan is advertised alongside Jeff Hardy, Shinsuke Nakamura, and others.
This is yet another sign that WWE believes that he will be staying. At this point, we don’t know if he has signed a new deal but he had not signed anything as of last week.
During an interview with the Gorilla Position podcast, Bryan seemed up for the idea for a fed with The Miz that would culminate at WrestleMania but he was skeptical about the creative team being able to follow through on a long-term storyline that includes history dating back to the days when Miz was Bryan’s “coach” in the reality show era of NXT in 2010.
Bryan has said that if he does stay with the company then he would want limited dates so he could spend more time at home and so he could rest his body. He has been working a full-time schedule since he was cleared to return a few months ago.
Here is the ad that was sent out by WWE to promote the pre-sale:
