Last week on Raw, it looked like Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt were heels when they attacked Raw Tag Team Champions The B-Team.
However, at Saturday night’s live event in Tallahassee, FL, Wyatt wrestled as a full-blown babyface. Wyatt wrestled Kevin Owens and we were told that he played to the crowd like a 1980’s babyface by clapping, stomping his feet, and saying the “wonderful” catchphrase that was popularized by Hardy. After the match, he took time to shake hands and to take selfies with fans at ringside.
This could be an official babyface turn or just an experiment. WWE has been known to do heel/face turn experiments at live events. For example, just a few months ago, Tye Dillinger wrestled as a heel against a babyface Rusev at live events.
I guess we’ll know soon if this was just something done for the fans at the live events or if there are plans for Wyatt to continue wrestling as a fan favorite. There have been some subtle teases on WWE TV that we could see a split between Hardy and Wyatt but for now, it looks like they are building towards a Raw Tag Team Championship rematch at SummerSlam.
