As expected, Aleister Black is officially out of the main event at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 4. WWE has been posting videos as a storyline explanation for why Black will not be in the match. The storyline is that he was attacked after this week’s NXT TV show by an unknown assailant.
The real reason why he won’t be on the show is that he underwent surgery for a groin injury. It’s not known how long he will be out of action but Dave Meltzer noted last week that the injury is more serious than a groin tear.
NXT General Manager William Regal announced that the main event will now be Tommaso Ciampa defending the NXT Championship against JohnnGarganono in a Last Man Standing Match.
