Dave Bautista not invited to WWE Smackdown 1000 in his hometown

As previously noted, several WWE Superstars from the past will be at the Smackdown 1000 show on October 16. The Undertaker has been confirmed for the show and PWInsider reported that Edge would be there although he said that it was news to him.

The show will take place at the Capitol One Arena in Washington, DC, which happens to be the hometown of Dave Bautista. One would think that WWE has reached out to Bautista about making an appearance on the show, especially since he lives nearby and because he spent a few years as one of the top stars of the brand.

A fan on Twitter tagged Bautista and said that he hoped that something could be worked out for an appearance on the show but Big Dave said that he wasn’t invited.

He wrote, “Surprise surprise!! I wasn’t invited! And it’s in my hometown.! ?.. guess by now I shouldn’t be shocked anymore.”

There’s plenty of time for a phone call so hopefully, something will be worked out within the next few weeks.

It’s unclear what the issue is between WWE and Bautista. Earlier this year, there were talks for him to be Ronda Rousey’s tag team partner at WrestleMania. However, Bautista said that Triple H stopped calling him and he found out that Kurt Angle would get the spot by watching on TV.

Bautista has said publicly that he would like one final run with WWE and he would return for a match against Triple H at WrestleMania.
